Raw & Wet. Red Book is an art exhibition exploring the connection between nature and human responsibility. he RAЇNS KYIV
series is an artistic exploration of the urban environment through the
prism of rain — a phenomenon that transforms the rhythm of the city, reveals human emotions, and creates a new scenography of everyday life. Within these works, rain emerges not merely as an atmospheric condition, but as an autonomous protagonist interacting with the inhabitants of the capital, altering their movement, behavior, and emotional states. The artist captures fleeting, almost cinematic moments of Kyiv, where accidental passersby become participants in a spontaneous urban performance.
The body of work is
constructed through observations of the city’s
multitude of narratives: couples dissolving into the spring downpour, individuals rushing toward the shelter of metro entrances, and residents for whom rain remains an inseparable element of the daily route. Particular attention is given to the sensory and emotional perception of space — the scent of wet asphalt, reflections shimmering in puddles, and the sound of rainfall resembling a rhythmic musical composition. These works convey the tension between the intimacy of human experience and the scale of the urban landscape, forming an atmosphere of living, shifting metropolitan poetics.
RAЇNS KYIV functions as a visual
explication of the contemporary city as a space of sensory experience and collective memory. Through scenes drawn from ordinary life, the artist addresses the coexistence of the individual and the metropolis, where even inclement weather becomes a catalyst for emotional interaction and moments of pause. The series invites viewers not only to observe, but also to recognize their own experiences within familiar urban imagery, transform- ing rainy Kyiv into a metaphor for the fragile yet profoundly human condition of everyday life.
